The basketball club, in the beginning named KK Potkozarje, was founded on July 23th 1973 in Aleksandrovac, Laktaši Municipality by a group of enthusiasts, which had the main goal to offer the local youth the opportunity to learn to play basketball. Knowing that, it is no surprise that the first notable results of the club came in the youth categories back in former Yugoslavia. In the second half of the 90' of the previous millenium, the club was renamed to Igokea and in 2000 the first trophies of the senior team came, when it claimed both the cup and championship winner title of Republika Srpska. The same year the new hall in Aleksandrovac was built and named after Nenad Baštinac, the first president of the club in its history. Only a year later, the club won its first Bosnia and Herzegovina championship title, while in 2003 it wasn't far from winning the regional Challenge Cup. In 2010, by winning the second place in BiH national championship, Igokea secured a spot in ABA League for the first time in its history and the same year the club moved to the new arena for the regional competition – Sport hall Laktaši with the capacity of 4,000 seats. In 2012/2013 season, the one when the club participated »at Adriatic« for the second time, KK Igokea achieved the biggest success in the club's history by claiming the 1st place after the regular season in ABA League and securing a spot at ABA League Final Four tournament for the first time, which was organized in Laktaši. In 2013/14 season, Igokea has an opportunity to participate in Eurocup for the first time.
